On the 27th of February we celebrate the Marathi Bhasha Diwas, it is celebrated to honour a famous marathi play wright and poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar , Pen name – Kusumagraj . His contribution in promoting Marathi language and literature was note worthy, so to remember such great personality his birthday is celebrated as Marathi language day . Here at St. Teresa’s the celebration was not less than a festival, students participating in the programme were dressed in traditional maharashtrian attire . We began with a prayer service, them a speech stating the importance of the day, then some of Kusumagraj ‘s famous poems were even recited ,then there was a dance and a skit stating information on marathi literature.
All thanks to our Marathi teachers, an excellent and informative program was set for the students.
